FAQ about the OmGym Suspension System


Can the OmGym Suspension System be used as a swing?

The OmGym Suspension System was not designed to be used as a swing and this form of use is not covered under warranty. A gentle sway from suggested exercises is normal, but momentum should not be intentionally intensified.

How long can I securely use the adjustment straps?

OmGym recommends replacing them according to their safety guidelines listed below.
A third Adjustment Strap can also be used if you would like to have the option for a wide set-up quickly at anytime (great for hammock-style use of the OmGym Suspension System).

  • Heavy Outdoor Use: Every 6 Months
  • Heavy Indoor Use: Every 12 Months
  • Medium Outdoor Use: Every 6-12 Months
  • Medium Indoor Use: Every 12-18 months
  • Light Outdoor Use: Every 12-24 months
  • Light Indoor Use: Every 18 to 48 months

What is the difference between Mandaran and OmGym?

There isn't much difference. Both have a padded edge on one side and handles on three levels.
Different are:

  • Colors and cloth material: Mandaran is 150 cm in width, OmGym 130 cm.
    The fabric of Mandaran has a similar floating behavior as OmGym, but is stronger (160g/sqm).
  • The grip straps of the Mandaran are made of rope, those of OmGym are made of fabric. The grip straps of OmGym might look a bit nicer than the rope material of Mandaran. The focus of the Mandaran is on stability and strength. (Mandaran up to 350 kg, OmGym acc. manufacturer loads up to 136 kg / 300 lbs.)
  • Mandaran has additional loops of cloth material (width 18 cm) to support softly the heels and the wrists.
  • The Mandaran is 24 cm longer then OmGym. Therefor you need about 12 cm more height for the setup. Both systems are suitable for the normal height of a ceiling.
  • The bag of Mandaran is made of cotton, the bag of OmGym of polyester/nylon
  • The width of the adjustment straps of OmGym are 11 mm (upto 136 kg / 300lbs), those of Mandaran 19 mm and have a defined strength of 22 kN (corresponds to 2200 kg)
  • Mandaran is made in Southern Germany, OmGym in China.
